Martenitsa

Hi !

So a quick update on our situation : we are back in France because of coronavirus since a few days, that is why we are a bit late on our posts.

Today I am going to talk about Martenitsa. It occurs during the month of march where everyone wears red and white bracelets. They are given in stores a bit before march or you can buy them in the street. Some people are also making them on their own since it is quite simple to do.

We are supposed to keep those bracelets until we notice the first signs of spring and hang them in trees where we saw one of the sign.

At the beginning of March there is also a few hikes to do like the one we did. We went to the Shipka Monument, where there is around 1300 steps to go to the top of the monument and where you can find an incredible view of the surroundings ! This is not really a hike since its mostly just those stairs but we also did an organized hike with few hundred people of 18km in the snow. It was a bit hard but there were beautiful panorama in the mountains !
